LISBON GALLERY "MAGICAL REALISM"

Allarts Gallery presents un exhibition of artworks from 6 different painters that can be considered representatives of “Magical Realism” expression.

“Magical Realism”, is a figurative painting expression filled with iconographic elements which interact in various ways and in subtle connections and complicities, capable of provoking the most varied perceptions in the observer.

In these complex scenarios, invented characters move in such a context of perception, that in each artwork they seem to become real, and lead us to multiple interpretations filled with wit and striking critics of our attitudes and experiences in society. We can find in this expression many characteristic incursions and elements of true “Surrealism”.

This exhibition integrates the 6th Edition of the initiative “Chiado Neighbourhood of Arts – Cultural Rentrée”.

The 30 galleries and cultural spaces, located between Largo do Rato and Cais do Sodré, are associated with this initiative performing simultaneously and in time extended art exhibition openings and other recreational and cultural activities.
In this edition will also be organized guided tours, workshops, book launches, a cycle of cinema and a wrap party.
