Vladimír Jelínek
Vladimír Jelínek was born in Zizice (Slaný), Czech Republic. Since an early age he showed great interest in plastic arts, and still very young he entered the “Kamenický Senov School”, specialized in the fabrication of artistic glass. Later, he took the course in “Applied Arts” at the Prague Academy.
He worked as a professional designer at the “Moravské Sklárny” in Karolinka and at the glass department of the “ÚBOK – Línea” in Prague. He also taught at the “Universita Karlova” in Prague and maintains a constant career as an independent artist.
For 40 years he has been collaborating with the renowned glass brand “MOSER Glassworks”, having created a series of art pieces, some of which received international awards, from which we must highlight the Gold Medals from the “Excellent Industrial Design” of the State of Bavaria, the “International Brno Fair” and the Silver Medal from the “American Interfaith Institute” of the USA.
His works present forms and chromatics inspired by the Czech interior landscapes, modeled by a singular and poetic artistic expression.
He participated in many expositions, both in his country and abroad, especially in the USA, at “The Metropolitan Museum of Art” and the “Corning Museum”, in Canada at the “EXPO”, in Italy at the “Triennale Milano" and the “Eurodomus Turin”, in Spain, at the “Arteta Bilbao”, in France at the “UNESCO” Paris, in Belgium at the “EXPO”, in the Netherlands at the “Museum Fodor“ and in the UK at the “Victoria and Albert Museum” of London.
Vladimír Jelínek is represented in various private collections in Europe, the USA, Japan and Australia, and he is also present at the “Národní Galerie” and at the “Umeleckoprumyslové Muzeum” in Prague, at the “Corning Museum” in New York, at the “Museum für Angewandte Kunst” in Vienna, at the “Bellerive Museum” in Zurich, at the “Musée dês Arts Decoratifs” in Paris, at the “Kunstmuseum der Stadt” in Dusseldorf, at the “Musées Royaux d`Arte et Histoire” in Brussels, and at the “Stenberg Foundation” in Vaduz.
