Louis Ferreira

Louis Ferreira was born in 1953 in Santos, S. Paulo, Brazil.
Although with great ability to paint, which he discovered in his early years, only in 1979 did he started his artistic career as a self taught painter.

His fine stroke, the detail of his luxuriant and green landscapes, the luminosity, the reflection and shadows combination in his work, make of him a reference figure in the Brazilian Modern Naïf.

He has participated in countless collective exhibitions in and out of the Brazil (USA, Canada, Switzerland, Spain and Israel). He has also done some individual shows in Brazil and in France at the “Galerie Jacqueline Bricard” in Lourmarin.

He has received many distinctions, underlining in 1980, the Honourable Mention at the “Art University International Exhibition” in S. Paulo and in 1991, the 1st Prize at the “Popular Art National Show” in Santos.

His work is held in several public and private collections at the “South American Art Museum” in Naha, Japan, at the “Brazilian Museum” in Tucson, New Mexico and at the “MAN Naïf Art Museum” in Beraut, France.
