Josep Mir

Josep Mir was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1933.
He started painting when he as only 10 years olds, but his first exhibition is dated 1983.

His works are enchanting because of the ludic magic of its figures and environments. One is overwhelmed by the wish to “enter” his paintings in the same way we are attracted to an “amusement park”…
His work is extremely popular among collectors and galleries, with individual exhibitions in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Mataró, Terrassa, Sant Cugat del Vallés, Málaga, Sitges and collective exhibitions throughout Europe and also Miami (USA), Tel Aviv (Israel), New York (USA.) Santiago del Chile (Chile), Caracas (Venezuela), Mexico City (México) and Santa Bárbara (USA.).

His work is held in the Museu Internacional de Arte Naïf de Jaén in Spain and at the Museu Internacional d´Art Naïf de Bages in France.
UNICEF reproduced one of his works for Christmas Cards in 1993.
