VÉCU

VÉCU, pseudonym of Valéry Quitard, is a self-taught painter born in 1960 in Perpignan, France, who now lives in Castelnou, in the Oriental Pyrenees. In 2003 he integrated the “Maison des Artistes” and, having abandoned all other professional activities, went on to dedicate himself exclusively to painting. He is an expert in the oil technique known as “trompe-l’œil de chevalet-peinture de la réalité”.

He is a regular presence at various individual and collective exhibitions held in France, namely in Avignon, Perpignan, Prades, Toulouse, Saint-Galmier, Lille, Pau, Biarritz, Bordeaux, Sigean, Honfleur, Saint-Léonard de Noblat, Paris, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Courchevel, Ramatuelle, Saint-Avold, Béziers, La Mirande, Fréjus, Lamballe, Chaumont e Châteauroux. However, his work has also been showed abroad, in locations such as Barcelona, Tarragona, Brussels, Zurich, Bruges, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, The Hague and Heusden an maas.

He participates in the main art shows of Paris: “Salon des Artistes Indépendants, Salon d’Automne, Salon Comparaison, Salon des Artistes Français, Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts” and is represented in galleries such as “Terre des Arts” (Paris, Cannes and St Tropez) in France, ”Smelik and Stokking” (Den Hague, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam), “Oocker” (Heusden an maas) in the Netherlands, and now also at the “Allarts Gallery (Lisbon) in Portugal.

VÉCU was honoured with various awards and honourable mentions such as the Bronze Medal and “Jean-Pierre Cot-Berges Award” of the “Salon des Artistes Français” in 2002, the Silver Merit Medal of the “Arts du Mérite et Dévouement Français”, and the Silver Medal at the “43ème Salon des Arts Plastiques de Béziers”.
