De Marchi

De Marchi was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1950.
A Self taught artist, she began her artistic career in 1987.
Her painting is very suggestive and her works express enormous colour vivacity and harmony and figurative expression. She represents daily life simple facts with overflowing simplicity and joy.
Through her paintings, she exalts nature, showing the beauty and magnetism of wild animals, trying to achieve a true conscience which should cultivate awareness in order to preserve Brazilian fauna and flora. With her own style, rich in details, she is inspired by people’s lives in Pantanal and The Amazon.
She has participated in several exhibitions in Brazil, Peru, Switzerland, France, Israel, Argentina and Portugal. Since 1977, she has done 6 individual shows named “A Arte de Marchi” (Marchi’s Art) in several spaces of reference for the Brazilian Painting. In 2009 she shows her work at the Assembleia Legislativa, in São Paulo, in an exhibition named “Viagem Pelo Pantanal”.
Known for her prolific output, she has won more than 50 medals and 2 trophies, for example, in 1987 the Silver Medal for at the “VII National Salon of Plastic Art’s” – Pablo Picasso – Unap in Brazil, in 1988 the Gold Medal by the Academia Brasileira de Letras – Rio de Janeiro, in 1989, gols Medals at th “V Plastic Art’s Salon Armando Vianna” and in 1992 the Gold Medal at the “Milton Leonetti Art Exhibition” in S. Paulo.
She exhibits in several galleries and her work is held in private collections in Brazil, Portugal, United States of America, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Israel, Japan and Australia, having some of her works in the private collection of the Musée D´Art Naif de Béraut, in France and at the Museu do Parlamento in São Paulo.
