Villares Pires

Villares Pires was born in 1951 in Oporto-Portugal.
He is a painter and sculptor with extensive public works (in Oporto, Évora and Faro) and in private collections in Portugal, Venezuela, Brasil, Germany and Spain.
He was a scholar of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Professor at ESAD (Superior School of Art and Design) of Matosinhos and, more recently, Artist Director of the 1st International Symposium of Figurative Sculpture in Pedro de Ançã at Silves Castle.
In July of 2017 he co-organized with the Brazilian sculptor, Ricardo Kersting, the Brazil-Portugal Sculptures Meeting, under the workshop program at O Tempo do Tempo – The Temple of Time, his studio/art school, in Silves, Algarve.
