Juan Guerra

Juan Guerra, a self taught painter, lives and works in Palma de Maiorca.
The thematic approach in his painting is rich and based on historical facts, traditional festivals or legends, showing an apparent simplicity, however, with the rigorousness of a demanding researcher.
He is also recognized as a Children’s book and Alleluias Illustrator.

Juan Guerra has done several exhibitions in Palma de Maiorca, Madrid and Barcelona and has participated in collective exhibitions not only in Spain but also in Japan, the USA, France, Portugal, Sweden and Italy.

He has received several awards and distinctions, highlighting, in 1995, the 1st Prize “Junta de Turismo da Costa do Estoril” and in 2005 the 2nd Prize at the XXIV Naïf Saloon at the Roglan Art Gallery in Barcelona. It is worth mentioning the invitation to participate in the “Hans Christian Anderson 200th Anniversary Commemorative Itinerant Exhibition”.

His work is held at the Fourny Max Museum (Paris), Museo de la Ciudad (Madrid), Florêncio de la Fuente (Cuenca), Art Naïf International Museum, Jaén (Madrid) and also at the Guimarães Art Municipal Museums (Portugal), Luzzana (Italy) and Porreres (Maiorca).
